What a credit is worth
1 credit = $0.02 on a monthly plan, so $1 of plan buys 50 credits. A yearly plan works out cheaper per credit.
What AI work costs
Most of what Crevio does for you is priced by the actual work done, not a flat fee per request. A one-line tweak to a headline costs a fraction of what building a full website costs, because it genuinely is less work. Two things drive the cost:- How much work the job takes. Longer, more complex jobs cost more.
- Which AI model runs it. Heavier jobs use more capable, more expensive models.
Every message to the assistant costs credits
Talking to Crevio isn’t free. Every turn the assistant takes spends credits — including when it retries something, and including when it’s fixing its own mistake. This is worth knowing because it changes how you get value:- A clear, specific request costs less than three rounds of clarification.
- Saying what you don’t want up front is cheaper than asking for a redo.
- Asking Crevio to remember a preference means you stop paying to repeat it.
Images, video, and audio
Media is priced by exactly what you get back: per image, per second of video, per character of speech. A 10-second clip costs about twice a 5-second one, and a high-resolution upscale costs more than a small one. You can steer the price with how you ask:- “A quick draft” uses a faster, cheaper model. Good for trying out ideas.
- No preference uses a balanced model that’s right for most work.
- “Best quality” uses the strongest model for the job, at a higher price. Save it for the final version.
What has a fixed price
Email lookups, phone calls and actions in your connected apps have set prices, because they’re paid per call to an outside service:
Phone calls are charged on the real length of the call, rounded up to the next minute. A call with a more expensive voice or AI model can cost more per minute. Crevio caps a call’s length to the minutes your balance covers.
An action in a connected app costs 1 credit for every 30 seconds it runs, so most cost 1 credit. When a task starts from something that happens in a connected app, such as a new email or calendar event, each one costs 1 credit as it arrives, on top of the task’s own run. To keep that low, have the task watch only the emails it needs, for example only those from one sender.
Your AI’s computer
Your AI has its own computer for running code, building and previewing sites, and browsing the web. It wakes up when the AI needs it and goes back to sleep when it’s idle, and you pay for the time it’s awake at what it costs us, about 8 credits an hour. An hour of heavy work, like building a site, can cost a little more. It’s charged through the month as the time adds up, and shows up as Computer time in your usage breakdown. Most accounts use only a few minutes a day. Everything else the AI does for you carries no separate per-action fee. It’s covered by the cost of the AI work itself. What doesn’t cost credits
- Browsing your own dashboard, orders, customers, and analytics.
- Publishing, editing, or deleting things yourself by clicking around.
- Receiving payments from your buyers.
- Connecting or disconnecting an app, social account, or domain.
Where to see your balance
Go to Settings → Billing. You’ll see your current balance and a list of every credit added or spent.Seeing where your credits go
Go to Settings → Usage (admins only). Pick the period at the top right: this billing cycle, today, the last 7 or 30 days, this month, or last month. The top card shows the credits used in that period, what you used today, your average per day, your balance, a bar chart of daily spend, and a forecast of roughly when your credits run out at this week’s pace. Below it, the same credits are broken down four ways. Switch between them with the tabs:- Chats and tasks: the conversations and scheduled tasks that cost the most. A task’s runs are added up under the task. Credits that didn’t come from a chat, like the API, are on one line. Connected-app calls, phone calls and chat titles count under the chat that caused them; charges made before this change stay on the unassigned line.
- Teammates: what each person’s chats and the scheduled tasks they created used. Spend that isn’t tied to one person, like a shared Slack channel or the API, is on its own line.
- Sites: what the work on each of your sites used.
- Kind of work: chat replies, images, research and so on.
Credit limits per teammate
An admin can cap how many credits each teammate can use per billing cycle. In Settings → Usage, open the Teammates tab, find the person and click Set limit. Leave the box empty, or click Remove limit, for no limit. You can also ask Crevio, for example “Cap Sam at 2,000 credits a month”. It asks you to approve the change first. When a teammate reaches their limit:- Their messages to the assistant get a reply saying they’ve reached their limit and when it resets. This works the same in the web app, the mobile app, Slack, Discord, Telegram, and email.
- Scheduled tasks they created are skipped until the next billing cycle. A skipped run shows the reason in the task’s history.
- Everyone else keeps working as normal.
Credits back for a failed run
If a scheduled task run or a reply from the assistant fails because of a problem on Crevio’s side, you can get the credits it used back. Click Give credits back next to it under Failed runs, or ask the assistant.- Only failures on Crevio’s side count: the assistant crashed, the AI model returned an error, or the run never started or stopped responding.
- A run that stopped because nobody answered its question, or a task that runs your own script, doesn’t qualify.
- Each run or reply can be refunded once, within 14 days, and up to 3 times a day per account.
- The credits land on your balance right away and never expire.
A private chat only shows up in the list for the person who can open it.
Topping up
If you run low before your plan renews, you can buy more without waiting.1
Open your plan settings
Go to Settings → Billing.
2
Choose an amount
Top-ups start at $5 (200 credits) and you pick any amount above that. There’s no fixed pack size.
3
Confirm
It charges the card already on your account, and the credits land right away.
Top-ups need an active paid plan. On the free plan you can instead buy a one-time starter pack of 300 credits for $10, once every 30 days, or choose a plan.
Owners and admins can buy credits and turn on auto top-up. Teammates without admin access don’t see the purchase form; when credits run out, Crevio asks the admins for them. Only the owner can cancel or pause the plan.
Buying credits in a chat
Ask Crevio to top up, for example “Buy $20 of credits”. It shows an approval card with the amount and the credits it buys. Once an admin approves, it charges your card on file straight away. With no card on file, the card shows a Pay button that opens a secure checkout. Every purchase asks for its own approval, even if you have allowed other actions to run automatically.Usage alerts
Admins get a notification and an email when credits are running low, at three points in each billing cycle:- when the cycle has used 70% of its credits;
- when, at the last week’s pace, your credits would run out before the next refill. This one names the date and the task that spent the most;
- when the cycle has used 90% of its credits.
Automatic top-ups
Turn on auto top-up and Crevio refills your balance for you, so a long job doesn’t stop halfway. Once it’s on, you choose:- Top-up amount: how much each top-up charges, from $5. It starts at $20 (800 credits).
- When credits drop below: the balance that triggers a top-up. It starts at 100 credits.
- Monthly limit: the most auto top-ups can charge in a calendar month. Leave it empty for no limit.
When credits run out
Nothing you ask for is lost. Crevio holds it and picks it up as soon as credits are added again, whether that’s a top-up, an auto top-up, a plan upgrade, or your plan’s monthly refill. The owner and admins get a notification and an email when the balance runs out, with the fastest way back: Add credits on a paid plan, or the plans on the free plan. It’s sent at most once a week, and not at all while auto top-up is on.- Messages to the assistant: you can keep typing. The assistant replies that you’re out of credits and your message is saved, then answers it once credits land. This works the same in the web app, the mobile app, Slack, Discord, Telegram, and email.
- Scheduled and automatic tasks: a run that was due is held. After the top-up, each task runs once, using the latest thing that triggered it. If several runs were missed, that one run covers them.
- Held work expires after 7 days. A message or task run held longer than that isn’t picked up, so you don’t get a reply to something you asked about last week.
Asking an admin for credits
Only the owner and admins can buy credits. On a paid plan they see a Buy credits link in the out-of-credits notice; on the free plan, Upgrade your plan. Teammates without admin access reach Crevio from Slack, Discord or Telegram. If one of them messages Crevio while the account is out of credits, Crevio asks the owner and the admins for them: each gets a notification and an email naming who asked, with the message they were trying to send attached. The teammate is told their admins have been asked. Crevio asks at most once an hour for each person. When a job costs more than you had left
Crevio checks your balance before it starts something, but some work only reveals its full cost at the end — a long reply, a big research job. If a job finishes costing more than your balance, the difference is owed, not written off. It’s taken out of the next credits that reach your account, whether that’s a top-up or your plan’s monthly credits, so a top-up after a big job can show up smaller than you expected. A refunded top-up works the same way. Its credits come off your balance in proportion to the refund, so half the money back removes half the credits. If you already spent them, the difference is owed and taken out of the next credits that reach your account. When credits expire
Credits are used in this order: plan credits rolled over from last cycle, then this cycle’s plan credits, then credits you bought, then bonus credits like referral rewards.
On the free plan
- You start with 100 credits when you sign up.
- Each month, your balance is topped up to 20 credits if it’s below that.
Earning credits by referring friends
The Refer and earn credits dialog in the sidebar has three tabs:- Earn cash explains the affiliate program (see below).
- Invite friends gives you a personal invite link, and lets you invite people by email.
- Rewards shows how many friends have joined, the credits you’ve earned, and a progress bar to your next milestone at 1, 3, 5, 10 and 25 friends.
- Up to 10 addresses in one go, and 20 people a day per person. Past that, share your link instead.
- Anyone who already has a Crevio account, or who was invited in the last 90 days, is skipped. Crevio doesn’t tell you which addresses were skipped or why.
- Every invitation has an unsubscribe link. Someone who uses it never receives another invitation from anyone, and their address will also be skipped.
Earning cash as an affiliate
Referring friends earns credits. If you recommend Crevio to an audience, the affiliate program pays cash instead: 20% commission, for life, on every paying customer you refer. It covers their plan payments and their credit top-ups, there is no cap on how much you can earn, and you can follow your referrals in a live stats dashboard. The Earn cash tab has a calculator. Pick how many customers you refer and which plan they’re on to see what you could earn each month and each year. The figures are an estimate based on those choices, not a promise of earnings. Click Join the affiliate program to sign up. The program is also listed as Become an affiliate on the Rewards page.Limits that aren’t about credits
Some things are capped per day by your plan, separately from your credit balance. Having credits doesn’t raise these, and hitting one doesn’t spend credits.
Phone calls also have anti-spam caps that apply on every plan: at most 3 call attempts to the same number in 24 hours, with a 3-hour gap between attempts.
Things to know
- Crevio’s assistant can check your balance and where your credits went, but it can’t quote a price before doing the work. If it tells you something is free or promises a refund, that’s a mistake; check Settings → Billing.
- Cost follows the work, not the outcome. If a job runs and you don’t like the result, the work still happened and the credits were still spent. Asking for a change is a new, usually much smaller job.
- Your own app’s AI usage is billed separately and at cost. If Crevio built you an app that calls AI itself, that traffic goes through Crevio at the AI provider’s list price with no markup, capped at 25,000 credits per day per key by default.
